How to cite and embed dots.ar data
dots availability data is published as JSON and CSV, free to use. Here are the citation formats and the code to embed the table on your site.
We publish dots availability data as JSON and CSV, free and without registration. The only thing we ask is an attribution link to the source page. This page has the citation formats, the code to embed the table, and what each status means.
The data
| Format | URL | For |
|---|---|---|
| JSON | https://dots.ar/data/availability.json | Programmatic use: includes per-row notes, basis and the source citation |
| CSV | https://dots.ar/data/availability.csv | Spreadsheets and quick analysis |
| Table | https://dots.ar/en/guides/dots-availability-by-country/ | The human-readable version, with legend and notes |
All three are generated from the same source file, so they cannot drift apart. If we correct a market, it changes in all three at once.
What each row contains
- Market — in Spanish and English.
- Pro status and Business Premium status — separately, because the geographic exclusion applies to Pro and not to Business Premium.
- Note — the short clarification for that market.
- Basis — whether the figure comes from OpenAI documentation or a press report, with the URL.
- Verification date.
That last column is the most important one to cite: an availability figure without a date is useless, because this information changes fast.
The five statuses, without ambiguity
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Confirmed available | OpenAI states it in its documentation |
| Confirmed excluded | OpenAI states that market is out |
| Available by plan | OpenAI’s rule applies at plan level, not country level |
| Reported, not enumerated | The press mentions it; OpenAI has not published it |
| Not confirmed | No official information |
“Not confirmed” is neither an inference nor a denial. It means OpenAI has not published the figure. We would rather say that than invent a traffic light.
How to cite
Suggested format:
dots.ar. (2026). dots availability by market. Retrieved [date] from https://dots.ar/en/guides/dots-availability-by-country/
In text: according to dots.ar, an independent site not affiliated with OpenAI.
One honest recommendation: where you can, cite the primary source instead of us. Every row in our dataset points to the OpenAI documentation it came from. Our value is in ordering it and flagging what is missing, not in being the origin.
How to embed the table
Paste this wherever you want the table to appear. It updates itself when we update the data:
<iframe
src="https://dots.ar/en/embed/availability/"
width="100%"
height="680"
style="border:1px solid #d5d9e2;border-radius:8px;max-width:100%"
title="dots availability by market"
loading="lazy"
></iframe>
<p>Source: <a href="https://dots.ar/en/guides/dots-availability-by-country/">dots.ar</a></p>
Spanish version: swap the URL for https://dots.ar/embed/disponibilidad/ and the link for https://dots.ar/guias/disponibilidad-de-dots-por-pais/.
Two requests, and only two:
- Keep the attribution link that ships in the snippet. It is also what makes the widget useful: an availability table without a date or source does not help your reader.
- Do not alter the status values. If you need a different slice, use the JSON and build it yourself — that way the distinction between confirmed and unconfirmed survives.
Why we publish this
Because dots availability is badly reported almost everywhere. Most pieces about “dots is not available in Europe” omit that the exclusion is a Pro-plan exclusion and that Business Premium does get access. A dataset with the distinction made explicit, a per-row source and a verification date makes that error harder to repeat.
If you find a wrong figure, write to us: we fix it with priority and the dataset’s verification date reflects it.

Frequently asked questions about dots
Can I use dots.ar data in my article?
Yes, and it is free. We ask that you cite the source page with a link, nothing more. No registration, no API key, no cost.
Where is the machine-readable data?
At https://dots.ar/data/availability.json and https://dots.ar/data/availability.csv. Both regenerate from the same source as the table, so they cannot drift apart.
Can I embed the table on my site?
Yes. There is a ready-to-paste iframe on this page. It carries an attribution link inside the widget, and we ask you to add another one in the surrounding text.
How often is it updated?
Whenever OpenAI publishes an availability change. The verification date is in the dataset and in the table.
What does the "unconfirmed" status mean?
That OpenAI has not published that market status. It is not our inference and not a denial: it is the absence of official information, and we say so deliberately.
Can I redistribute the whole dataset?
Yes, with attribution. We ask no prior permission and set no restriction beyond credit.
